Many thanks to our supporters, friends and families of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Arkansas who came to the third annual Fish Fry on September 28th at the River Market Pavilion in Little Rock. All those who came enjoyed an evening of fun, networking and the satisfaction of supporting a great cause—Hearts and Homes of Arkansas. This charitable organization was established in 2009 to assist the citizens across Arkansas who have lost their home, their office, or their ability to pay for their home and/ or their livelihood through natural disaster or other catastrophic events.
On February 1st and 2nd the Mortgage Bankers Association of Arkansas partnered with Genworth Mortgage Insurance to bring their Mortgage University course to Little Rock. This two day, in-depth course was a perfect jump start for those who had been in the industry for five years or less, and was designed to take attendees from knowing “what” you do to a deeper understanding of finding out “why” you do it. Approximately 105 people participated in Mortgage University presented by the very talented Mary Kay Scully. The reviews of the course were outstanding.
A special thanks to Lieutenant Governor Tim Griffin for being our guest speaker at the October luncheon held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Griffin has held the position as Lieutenant Governor since January 2015 under Governor Asa Hutchinson. He is also a fifth generation Arkansan who grew up in Hope, Arkansas and later graduated from Hendrix College in Conway and Tulane Law School in New Orleans. Approximately 45 individuals joined us for this informative luncheon with his topic being the State of Affairs for Budget and State Regulations.
All attendees were treated to delicious food provided by Adams Catfish Express as well as several amazing door prizes. Most importantly though, our supporters help raise funds for this very worthy cause.
A special thanks to the following sponsors: American Abstract, Lenders Title, Matt Black Insurance, and Ed Bennett.
